Ahead of the console and PC release of Mortal Kombat X next week, the mobile version of the game has been released for iOS devices through the App Store – allowing you to break bones, tear limbs, and crush skulls anywhere you go.
“NetherRealm perfected the art of mobile fighting games with Injustice: Gods Among Us, which has been downloaded more than 43 million times since it launched in April of 2013, and with WWE® Immortals™, which has more than eight million downloads since January 2015,” said Greg Ballard, Senior Vice President, Mobile, Social and Emerging Platforms, WBIE. “The team has outdone themselves with its latest offering, creating an authentic Mortal Kombat mobile experience from the ground up, bringing players all the signature, over-the-top fighting gameplay mechanics that are hallmarks of the franchise and delivering on WBIE’s quality games-as-a-service promise.”
The free-to-play game features fighting and card collection through daily events and online multi-player battles and was specifically designed for mobile devices. Players will be able to fight as over 24 fighters who make up the initial roster, including legendary characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kano and Raiden, as well as all-new fighters including Cassie Cage, D’Vorah and Kotal Kahn. An Allies feature allows you to borrow characters from your friends to give you a leg up during your battles with a fourth fighter.
When the console and PC versions launch later this month, the team-based Faction Wars feature will go live which allows players to complete tasks and achievements on any platform in order to unlock speccial content between the mobile and console/PC versions of the game.
Mortal Kombat X can be downloaded from the App Store today, and is set to hit Google Play for Android devices soon.
