Forza Motorsport 6 Available To Pre-order Digitally

The latest in the Forza franchise, Forza Motorsport 6 is set to launch on the Xbox One on September 15th. While physical pre-orders went up shortly after it was shown off again at E3, digital pre-orders have finally arrived for those wishing to purchase it digitally.

As with other titles in the series, there are three versions of the game – Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Ultimate Edition. Each edition has various tiers of what’s included, and of course a higher price tag attached depending on what’s included.

The Standard Edition includes the base game and will set you back $59.99USD ($74.99CAD). This basic bundle will get you a copy of the game, as well as the Ten Year Anniversary Car Pack, which features 10 specially tuned and liveried cars, including the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale, the 2014 Lamborghini Hurácan and the 2013 McLaren P1™.

If you pre-order you’ll also receive an exclusive bonus car, the 2015 Mazda MX-5, in Forza Motorsport 6, as well as the Pre-Order Car Pack, Alpinestars Car Pack, and Duracell Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 for Xbox One at no additional charge (a $10 deal).

Forza Motorsport 6 Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition, for $79.99USD ($94.99CAD) gets you the Standard Edition content as well as Forza Motorsport 6 VIP access and the Forza Motorsport 6 Fast & Furious Car Pack. VIP members receive five exclusive VIP cars, including the 2013 Ferrari 458 Speciale, 2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato, 2013 Lamborghini Veneno, 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R, and the 1997 McLaren F1. VIPs will receive additional benefits, including double race earnings, access to exclusive online events, community gifts, and more. The Fast & Furious Car Pack includes cars from the Fast & Furious movie franchise and continues the tie in to the Forza series that started with the standalone and Forza Horizon 2 Car Pack.

As with the Standard Edition, the same pre-order bonuses apply.

Finally, the Ultimate Edition gives Forza fans the full meal deal. It seems pricey – $99.99USD ($114.99CAD), but honestly with all the content and bonuses that Turn 10 Studios surprises you with throughout the life of the game, it’s well worth it. Oh and Canadians – feeling ripped off that it costs an extra $15? The current exchange rate shows $99.99US at $124.91CAD so we’re actually getting a bit of a deal up here (now if only we got paid in USD as well)!

So what do you get in addition to what’s in the Deluxe Edition? Let’s recap what you get first: Forza Motorsport 6, the Ten Year Anniversary Car Pack, VIP access, the Fast & Furious Car Pack, and if you pre-order you also get the 2015 Mazda MX-5, and the Pre-Order, Alpinestars, and Duracell Car Packs for Forza Horizon 2. Not a bad deal so far, but the deal sealer (in my opinion) is the inclusion of the Forza Motorsport 6 Car Pass which brings you six monthly car packs (7 cars each) beginning in October 2015. That’s 42 cars total which when purchased separately would cost you around $30 based on current Car Pack DLC pricing. Oh, and you get early access to the game – 5 days to be precise, so you’ll be able to hit the racetrack on September 10th while everyone else is waiting…

So there you have it, the three editions of Forza Motorsport 6 that are currently available to pre-order digitally. Turn 10 has been great with customer loyalty, especially since it launched their Forza Hub which includes monthly bonuses based on just how much Forza you play. Speaking of, they’ve updated the Forza Hub as well and you can now reach Tier 8 for even more bonuses before Forza Motorsport 6 launches in September.

Are you looking forward to Forza Motorsport 6? Which Edition are you looking to pick up? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook!

  1. I’ll probably get this, but will likely wait until Christmas time to do so. With Fallout 4, Black Ops 3, Madden and NHL 16 coming out in the next few months (and I’m likely forgetting a few) I will be busy….especially with a 2 1/2 year old and an 8 month old running about, haha.

I’m curious about the Canadian pricing. When I do the math it basically translates out to what the US cost is (seeing as how the CAD is weaker than the USD right now), but I’m curious….are the games always $74.99 CAD? Because that would really suck when the CAD is equal to (or even closer to) the USD.

    • They used to be the same as USD when our dollar was closer to par. Then back up to $69.99, and recently $74.99. So it does fluctuate, but it takes time for the prices to adjust as well. Just because our dollar hits closer to par, takes a few months for the price of games to come down.

      • Ah, I see. Well that’s better than Europe, then. My wife and I (and our oldest son, baby wasn’t born yet, haha) were in Hannover, Germany for six months last year (for her job) and all games were €59.99. At the time we were there (January through the end of June last year) the euro was at $1.36 USD. So Europeans were really taking it in the pants. Now, not quite as bad (since the euro is only at $1.11 USD.) Of course the drop in the euro sucks for us because we still have around €1,000 over there and we are basically losing money. 🙁 haha
