It’s getting to the time of year where we might expect a new Moto 360 sometimes soon. A report from the India Times suggests that we may not be getting a new Moto 360, but two new Moto 360 models. The hypothesis comes from some Motorola documentation through a Brazilian equivalent of the FCC, Anatel. The documents filed by Motorola in Brazil are for two devices, the “360S” and the “360L.” Your guess is as good as mine as to what the S and L might stand for but my initial reaction would be either some “Sport” model and a “Luxury” model or a more likely scenario “Small” and “Large.” While the Moto 360 was a large watch, that does seem to be the trend although perhaps a smaller watch would sell better in the female market as well as the younger market especially if it had a smaller price tag.
The document submitted to Anatel also mentions that both 360S and 360L have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and that S has a battery capacity of 270mAh while L features a 375mAh battery. However, the document offers no further information.
Adding to the hype and interest in the Moto 360, possibly multiple models, is the fact that Motorola released a promotional video a few days ago demonstrating Google Now, however, the render used was not the current model of the Moto 360. The model displayed has the crown placed high on the right side at about 2 o’clock, but no other significant design changes. The major changes to the Moto 360 models will most likely be to the internals, though with this leak it would seem the watches will be released sooner rather than later.
Are you looking forward to the new Moto 360 release? Do you think following Apple in having two different sizes will benefit the sales of the Moto 360? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or on social media!
