Health o meter is a company that knows a few things about fitness, most notably when it comes to scales and weighing equipment. Today, they are expanding on that knowledge and entering into the health and fitness tracking business with a new line of products called nuyu. The name clearly sounds like “new you” and with good reason, as all of the products in this line aim to help you reach your fitness and weight loss goals in a safe and responsible manner. As of this time the nuyu line contains four products which I’ll briefly outline below.
First up is the nuyu activity monitor. The activity monitor tracks steps, calories, distance, and sleep. You’ll be able to watch your stats and goals in real time on the OLED screen. You can wear it on your wrist, or clip it to your belt or shoelaces via the included clip attachment. The monitor is water-resistant up to 30 meters, and the replaceable battery should run for four months before needing a replacement. All of your fitness data will sync via Bluetooth with the Health o meter nuyu app, available for Android and iOS (and compatible with Apple Health Kit). Coming in at under $50 this is definitely an attractive entrant into this category. The nuyu Activity Monitor is available now, and can be purchased via the links at the bottom of this article.
Scales are really Health o meter’s bread and butter, so you can imagine that this scale should have some nice features attached. In this instance the wireless scale is not only technologically advanced, but nice to look at. The LED display is only shown when you are standing on the scale, otherwise it disappears into the glass surface of the scale. The scale will also connect via Bluetooth to your nuyu app, allowing you to track weight and BMI to get a better handle on weight gain or loss. The wireless scale can accommodate users up to 400 pounds, and will register weight in increments of tenths of a pound for better accuracy. The Wireless Scale is also available now retailing for $49.99. It can also be purchased via the links below.
Most of us have at least some idea of what we should be doing to be healthy and eat better, but we can all use some encouragement and support on occasion. The nuyu coaching plans are customizable 12-week plans tailored for your specific goals, whether those goals are weight loss, stress reduction, or several other programs. The coaching plans all run through the nuyu app and after an initial health assessment will come up with a safe and effective program and timeline to work towards your goals with the assistance of a virtual partner. These plans will work hand-in-hand with data gleaned from both the Activity Monitor and Wireless Scale in order to give you tailored advice to your exact needs. The program will also provide recipes and meal plans to help you reach your goals. These plans will be available starting in October and will retail for $19.99. The plans can be purchased via a gift card, or digitally through the nuyu app.
Any fitness plan will fail if you aren’t getting enough rest to rejuvenate your body. The nuyu sleep system is unique in that it will work with your circadian rhythm to get you the best night sleep possible. The sleep system works with a Bluetooth enabled mat and you guessed it, your nuyu app. The system mimics your circadian rhythm to keep you comfortable at every stage of sleep. The mat will warm slightly as you are falling asleep, then cool while you are asleep before warming to help you gradually wake up. The system is not yet available, though should be released sometime in the fall with an expected price of $499.99.
