Back on Monday, Huawei announced the Honor 8 handset at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park event. It looks like a great device and it’s going to have high end specs, but will have a great price too. It won’t make you fork out tons of cash to get the latest and greatest.
Just to get the price out of the way first, it’s going to start out at $399 unlocked which will provide you with 32GB of internal storage. For just $100 more ($499), you’ll be able to reserve the 64GB storage model. If you need a little push if you’re being indecisive about purchasing the device, Honor is providing you with a $50 gift card if you order it before September 3rd.
As for the specs, like I stated before, it’s high end. You’ll be getting a 5.2 inch display with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. EMUI UI 4.1 is on board, which is based off of Android 6 Marshmallow. The phone features a Kirin 950 SoC, an octa-core processor running four cores at 2.3GHz and the other four at 1.8GHz, and an i5 co-processor. You’ll have 4GB RAM to help keep things running smoothly. A dual 12 megapixel rear facing camera will be on board, with one lens for color and the other for monochrome which helps make the picture look more sharp. The front facing shooter is 8 megapixel and will be more than enough for all those selfies you take. The battery is 3000mAh and Honor states that you can get 47% in just 30 minutes of charging and a 10 minute charge will provide you with enough battery for a 2 hour phone call.
So, with the new device set for pre-order and getting a $50 gift card, do you plan on getting the new Honor 8? What are your thoughts about the device too? Feel free to leave your comments down below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
